Graduate Student Profile
Bekah Nortrup is a master’s degree student who developed her passion for agriculture, science and education growing up in rural Indiana. She graduated from Purdue with a bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate in Agricultural Education. For her research interests, she is particularly interested in understanding the fair experience and its effects on youth as well as exploring the nature of science beliefs in future and current agricultural educators. For her assistantship, she works on the educational outreach project MAGIC—a corn biodiversity and genetics project, which uses agriculture as a context to scaffold the development of science knowledge.
