Faculty Profile
Professor Peters seeks experiences beyond the Purdue community that will give him new insights into Agricultural Education. For instance, he taught an off-campus course for Louisiana State University in 1984 and traveled to Zaria, Nigeria during the summer of 1989 working as a visiting professor at Ahmadu Bello University. Peters' experience at Ahmadu Bello University provided him with new insights and perspectives on education which he has taken into the classroom. Peters was also able to gain international experience in a developing country, thus opening the doors for him to consider further interest in international work. During the summer of 1994, Peters visited Zamorano Escula Agricola Panamericana in Tegucigalpa, Honduras to help in the establishment of university relations with Zamorano in order to develop international experiences for Purdue agricultural education students and secondary agricultural science and business teachers in Zamorano's rural development program. International travels to Nigeria, Germany, Belgium, France, Costa Rica, Honduras, Tunisia, Kyrgyzstan, Algeria, and most recently three different teaching symposiums he has presented in Afghanistan have provided Peters with enriched perspectives about education that he shares with his students.

Peters has been working with the Indiana Center for Cultural Exchange at Purdue University and the Department of State to present leadership training sessions to youth through the Middle East Partnership Initiative involving several middle eastern countries and leadership training sessions to youth and adults through the USPORT Kyrgyzstan, USPORT Lebanon and USPORT Algeria.
