Dates to Remember

ANNUAL DUE DATES
Students must reapply for scholarships in the College of Agriculture, each year 

  • October 1: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens 

    October 1The College of Agriculture Scholarship application opens.  

    May 1: Deadline for thank you letters. Thank you letters to scholarship donors are expected and required.

    The College of Agriculture scholarship letters will be sent to the scholarship
    recipients and will 
    contain information about the award, the donor and thank you letter guidelines.
     

INCOMING STUDENTS
Students are encouraged to complete the College of Agriculture Scholarship Application prior to being admitted to Purdue University.  However, College of Agriculture Scholarships will only be awarded to admitted students who have majors in the college.
  •  November 1: Deadline for early application. New students applying to Purdue must submit their admission application and all required materials by November 1 to maximize consideration for university-wide and college scholarships and to receive an admission update on January 15.

    December 15: Priority date to submit your FAFSA to maximize need-based scholarship awards.  

    December 15: College of Agriculture's scholarship application deadline.  

    Mid-February: The College of Agriculture will email scholarship letters to early admitted incoming first-year students, using their Purdue email. Students should view the financial tab in myPurdue for complete financial aid information. 

CONTINUING STUDENTS
  • February 1: College of Agriculture's scholarship application deadline.  

    May 1: The College of Agriculture will email scholarship letters to current students, using their Purdue email. Students should view the financial tab in myPurdue for complete financial aid information.

TRANSFER STUDENTS 
  • April 15: College of Agriculture's scholarship application deadline.  

    May 1: The College of Agriculture will email scholarship letters to transfer students, using their Purdue email. Students should view the financial tab in myPurdue for complete financial aid information.

The College of Agriculture has several scholarships available for prospective students as well as students currently enrolled in the college. The College of Agriculture awards over $2.5 million in scholarships each year to the undergraduate students in the college, made possible by the generous support of our Alumni and Friends. The College of Agriculture is well known and invites applications from students who participated in FFA and 4-H.  The college also encourages applications from students of all backgrounds and experiences who can demonstrate scholastic excellence, civic or citizenship engagement, and character and leadership development. 

The College of Agriculture Scholarship application
for the 2022-23 academic year will open on October 1.
Students will complete one application for scholarships awarded by the College of Agriculture.  Students may need to complete additional applications to be considered for some departmental scholarships in the College of Agriculture.  Scholarships are awarded on an annual cycle.  Scholarship awards are announced in the Spring semester for the upcoming Fall semester or academic year.

The College of Agriculture application must be completed in one attempt. Students cannot save the application to finish at a later time. Incomplete applications will not be considered for scholarship awarding.  Submissions are allowed when all of the questions have been answered.  Students may also apply for scholarships through Purdue University's Division of Financial Aid, visit www.purdue.scholarshipuniverse.com to submit your information. Transfer to Purdue AG Scholarship

The Transfer to Purdue AG Scholarship is given to transfer students for their admitted academic year to Purdue University College of Agriculture.  The award amount is $1,000 and is non-renewable. The number of scholarships given will vary each year.

To be considered for this scholarship, transfer students must have a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. at their current or previous higher learning institution.  Transfer students who are admitted must complete the application and submit their current transcripts by April 15.  Click here for the 2022-23 application.

Scholarships are made possible through the generous support of alumni and friends of Purdue Agriculture. It is important to acknowledge those contributions. Writing a thank you letter is a sincere and courteous gesture and the donor will see the positive impact their contribution has had on you. If you received more than one scholarship you are expected to write a thank you letter for each scholarship you received.

Letters should be addressed to the names of the donors (this information is provided in your award notification). Please review your letter for accuracy.   Seek assistance from Purdue's Online Writing Lab for writing tips.
