Howard "Jim" Leach | Junior | Salinas, CA | Agricultural Economics
My career goal is to work for an agricultural company specifically reguarding sales and marketing, as well as operations. I hope to one day join my family's business, which specializes in producing and distributing value added fresh produce. I enjoy spending my free time with friends and family.
Alex Bender | Senior | Poseyville, IN | Agricultural Economics
My past as well as my future in the field of agriculture leads back to my roots on my family's grain farm. I have always been interested in and enjoyed all of the aspects of agriculture, whether it be equiptment maintenance, operations, or the marketing side. I came to Purdue with a focus in syudying Agricultural Economics with high hopes of gaining the knowledge, tactics, and skills it takes to become a successful farmer. I look forward to returning to my family farm operation one day to help my dad and uncle expand the business. With this in mind, spending time with my family and friends is very important to me as well. Without the suppourt of a great family and positive friends, my future in agriculture would be very different.
| Junior | Berne, IN | Agricultural Economics
I grew up on a farm in Northeast Indiana where my family raises row crops. After I graduate from Purdue, I plan on returning to the family farm and taking a management position there beside my father and uncle. I had good experience this past year farming my own land for the first time. I hope to utilize the skills I have learned at Purdue to make the operation more diverse, productive, and successful.
| Senior | West Lafayette, IN | Quantitative Agricultural Economics & French
I grew up in Bryan, TX and then moved West Lafayette with my family. After I graduate from Purdue, I plan to earn my Masters in Economics then I would like to work in foreign affairs, on the CME, or for the government. I enjoy being involved on campus through PSG, PFSB, Ag Ambassadors, and Kappa Alpha Theta. My experience here on campus has been more than I could ask for. Above all, Hail Purdue!
| Junior | Greensburg, IN | Animal Sciences, Animal Agribusiness
I grew up in Southern Indiana and worked with beef cattle and swine. After graduation I plan on pursing a career in the beef industry, working for Elanco, Covance, or Pfizer with a concentration in reproduction, nutrition, and marketing. One day I hope to have my own cattle operation and be located somewhere in the midwest. I enjoy going to Purdue basketball games, hanging out with friends, playing the guitar, and running. An interesting fact about me is that I am ambidextrous and can A.I. cattle with my right and left hand.
