College of Agriculture sophomores who have completed 30 hours (28 graded), have a minimum grade point average of 3.50 (A = 4.00), and all grades above a “C.” Past recipients who have successfully completed their sophomore year may apply for a one-year renewal. Emphasis is placed on majors in the plant sciences and/or agribusiness (Departments of Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Biochemistry, Botany and Plant Pathology, Entomology and Horticulture), but outstanding students in other disciplines may be considered. A student may receive both an Elsie Gruel Scholarship and the Woods Scholarship.
