Careers in Landscape Architecture

Landscape architects find employment in a variety of places.
Many work in offices and firms that specialize in the discipline of
Landscape Architecture. Others enjoy working in multi-disciplinary
environments that bring together a variety of planning and design
professionals such as architects, engineers, interior designers
and other professionals. Still others will find employment in public
agencies, such as the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service
or local Park Departments. A smaller percentage pursue careers
in education, teaching the craft of landscape architecture to others.
Given the thoughtful and environmentally sustainable design approaches
used by landscape architects, it's no wonder that the employment outlook for the
profession remains bright. The world simply cannot afford to permit
development that fails to balance the needs of nature and people for their
mutual benefit.
