Clara M. Vasquez-Mejia

In June 2014, Clara Vasquez started her Ph.D degree co-advised by Dr. Christian Butzke and Dr. Bruce Applegate. Her thesis project focuses on understanding the mechanism of action of sulfites and chlorine dioxide against Saccharomyces cerevisiae by using bioluminescence as an analytical tool.

Krystina Lema-Almeida

In January 2015, Krystina came to Purdue to do a four-month internship as a requirement to finish her Bachelor degree on Food Science in Zamorano University. Her research focused on proposing an antimicrobial mode of action of chlorine dioxide against a bioluminescent strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
