Laurie Swift is the Administrative Director for the Department of Food Science.
Laurie’s primary responsibilities are external relations and
student career/placement services. She helps create and maintain relationships
between the industry and the Department by matching areas of need with areas of
expertise. She administers the Industrial Associates Program and assists the
Centers housed within the Department of Food Science with their engagement efforts with companies. She leads the
Department’s career services by advising and training students in their
professional skills, connecting students with employers for internships and
full-time positions. She also leads the Department’s alumni relations, communications, and
marketing efforts via print, web, social media, and special events.
