Dr. Kevin Keener is Professor of Food Science and Human Nutrition at Iowa State University, where he is also the Director of the Center for Crops Utilization Research and Director of the BioCentury Research Farm. Formerly, he was on faculty at Purdue and continues as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Food Science and the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering.

Research
Development of non-invasive quality measurement techniques and novel food processing technologies Specific research projects include the following:
  • Development of NMR and MRI methods for food processing 
  • Development of food applications for radiant frying technology 
  • Development of food applications for nonthermal plasma technology 
  • Characterization of antimicrobial activity in shell eggs with carbon dioxide treatment
