Forestry and Natural Resources Department (FNR) students, alumni and employers have the advantage to connect at three levels:
Department Level – The department is dedicated to providing students the attention needed to be successful in today's workforce. We offer several services to help students find jobs, internships and summer employment. These services include general career guidance and specific advice with writing resumes and cover letters, preparing for interviews and developing job search techniques, sending the Pines & Needles Career e-newsletter and maintaining the career web page, FNR Job Board, and more. Students and employers also have the opportunity to meet at the annual FNR Career Fair. You may visit our office in Room G003 of Pfendler Hall. For a compilation of raw data reported by our graduates on position placement, view Placement for May Undergraduate Students.
College Level – The College of Agriculture offers career service resources. Sherrelyn Meyer is the Assistant Director of Academic Programs and Career Services and Scholarship Coordinator. The College maintains a Web site with position announcements and internship availability.
University Level – Purdue offers The Center for Career Opportunities as a resource for students, alumni and employers to connect. The mission of CCO is to engage Purdue University students and alumni in exploring career options and developing effective job search skills. The CCO facilitates activities that connect students and alumni with employers and develops partnerships with Purdue colleges, schools and other stakeholders to deliver career services.
