As a population biologist for the San Diego Zoo Global and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Dr. Jamie Ivy performs demographic and genetic viability assessments that are used to inform collection planning and increase collection sustainability. She is also an Adjunct Population Biologist for the Population Management Center (PMC) at the Lincoln Park Zoo where she advises and prepares Breeding and Transfers Plans for ~30 Species Survival Plans (SSPs) and Red Programs. Her research interests include refining methods for selecting captive breeding pairs and integrating molecular data into pedigree-based captive population management.
