National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS)Graduate Research Fellowship Program​ is one of the largest graduate programs supported by NOAA. Fellows conduct their research within a National Estuarine Research Reserve and gain hands-on experience by engaging with reserve staff and participating in their host reserve's research, education, stewardship and training programs. Fellows receive a stipend of $20,000 per year. Funds are available on a competitive basis. Fellowships may be funded for up to three years. The application deadline is November 1st each year. Fellows have the opportunity to network with and learn from local and visiting investigators.

Partners include: NOAA Office for Coastal Management and the Coastal State Organization, State Coastal Zone Management Programs and the Sea Grant College Program​.
