The John V. Osmun Alumni Professional Achievement Award in Entomology has been awarded to Dr. Michael

Culy.
 Mike received his education at Purdue, earning a BS in '79, an MS in '82, and his PhD in '87.  After his education, Dr. Culy started as an IPM coordinator and research agronomist for Pioneer Hi-Bred, then moved to Dow AgroSciences, where he has had an accomplished career with leadership responsibilities in field research and product development.  He is an engaged professional in the discipline and a leader in our professional society. Working with students and future professionals has been a particular passion. He has served on the Purdue Entomology Development Council, and is a member of the graduate faculty in entomology at the University of Nebraska. Dr. Culy is an active member of the Entomological Society of America where he has served on various committees and held leadership responsibilities as President of the North Central Branch and as a member of the Governing Board. 

 

The Osmun Award ceremony this year will be on Friday, September 26th, 2014. Congratulations Mike!
