Doug Spaunhorst is a PhD student working under Dr. Johnson on the utility of herbicide programs and cover crops for management of Palmer amaranth. Doug’s research also focuses on the biology of Palmer amaranth and screening Indiana Palmer amaranth populations for herbicide resistance. The goal of Doug’s research is to identify management strategies that exploit Palmer amaranths weaknesses in current and future cropping systems. Expected graduation: December 2016.
