Hi! I work as a Research Assistant in Dr. Elizabeth Tran’s laboratory. I have been at Purdue a long time: I received my B.S. from the biology department in 2001 and then worked as a laboratory assistant for several years before going back to school for my M.S., which I received in 2009 (also in biology).

I started working in Dr. Tran’s lab in 2009 and have been fortunate to perform a wide variety of experiments and to grow as a researcher. Our lab is working to elucidate the function of the DBP2, a DEAD-box protein in S. cerevisiae. DEAD-box proteins are conserved RNA-dependent ATPases, which perform a variety of important functions in the cell, and have been implicated in multiple human diseases, making them important targets of study.
