Hi, I’m Peng Wang and I come from Hubei, China. I received my B.S. in biological sciences from Nanjing University in 2011. During my undergraduate study, I worked in Dr. Shan Lu’s lab for a year and a half, participating in characterizing orange gene found in an orange cauliflower.
I’m interested in plant biochemistry and physiology, so I joined the PULSe graduate program in fall 2011 and chose Dr. Chapple’s lab after four rotations in labs studying plant science. I’m currently working on the Mediator complex in Arabidopsis. I will exploit the site-directed mutagenesis of REF4 and RFR1, subunits of Mediator, to study their functions in mediating the phenylpropanoid biosynthesis in Arabidopsis.
In my spare time I enjoy playing badminton and cooking. I also like traveling with my friends.
