Hi, my name is Jingqun Ma and I am from Xi'an city, Shaanxi province, China. I obtained my B.A./D.V.M. from China Agriculture University and M.S. degree from Kansas State University. During my undergraduate studies, my research was about the effect of interferon on the replication of different subtypes of influenza viruses and the mechanism underlining it.
I decided to further my education and training by pursuing a Ph.D. program. I chose the Department of Biochemistry at Purdue University mainly because I am really impressed by the outstanding faculty expertise, the welcoming atmosphere, and the sufficient guidance graduate students receive here.
After rotating in three labs my first year, I joined the Weake lab in spring 2013.
