My name is Ben Woodworth and I am a first year rotation student from Trafalgar, Indiana. I earned my bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Marshall University and have returned to Indiana for my graduate studies.
While in West Virginia, I studied algal biodiesel production and became interested in metabolic flux and carbon allocation in plants. I felt that Purdue's Department of Biochemistry was a great fit for me because of the sense of community, department size, and its inclusion in the College of Agriculture.
After rotating in three labs my first year, I joined the Doudareva lab in spring 2013.
When I'm not in the lab, I enjoy cycling, reading, and trail riding with my quarter horse, Bud.
