Hi, I am Jie Li and I am from Hubei, China. I received my Ph.D. in Molecular Oncology from Toho University School of Medicine in Tokyo, Japan.
I joined Dr. Xiaoqi Liu’s lab on June 1, 2012. My current project mainly focuses on the role of Polo-like kinase 1 (Plk1) in pancreatic cancer. We aim to understand the regulation and function of Plk1 in pancreatic cancer cells by investigating the signaling pathways in these cells. Since Plk1 plays a center role in cell division, to exploit the role of Plk1 in pancreatic cancer may have great potential to improve the current pancreatic cancer therapy and increase the survival rate.
It is a great pleasure for me to join the Liu lab and this pancreatic cancer project.
