Decades of Agronomy Education Shows through for two alumni

Mike Cuzzort and Aaron Englert arrive at work, they realize there is more in common between them than being employed at Superior Ag Resources CO-OP in Princeton, Indiana. They both are alumni of the Purdue Department of Agronomy. Although they graduated nearly 45 years apart, their education from Purdue is still withstanding a generation of changes in the agriculture industry.

Colbert.jpgAgronomy Student Experiences Culture and Agriculture Abroad

As Taylor Sigman woke one morning to the sound of horses traveling along the side street outside her hotel room, she was reminded that she no longer was in Indiana, she was in Costa Rica during a study abroad course. One of the most memorable and eye opening experiences of her life.

Sherry.jpgAgronomy Member a Momentum Maker

Many agronomy students and alumni have a special appreciation for Sherry Fulk-Bringman. She works with over 160 students in AGRY 255 / AGRY 270 each semester as the coordinator in the Soils Resource Center. She also is involved with the Agronomy Club and Agronomy Ambassadors. She is a great example of a momentum maker.

Two Purdue Agronomy faculty members give insight about their jobs. Learn about Drs. Richard Grant and Katy Rainey's research appointments. You can also watch a video about each of the faculty members. These videos are part of the Why I am Purdue Agronomy video series. The series covers why faculty members are passionate about their research, extension, or teaching appointments.

Seed World sits down with the 2014 Future Giant of the Seed Industry award winner and explores the realities that keep Chris Boomsma motivated.

“What excites me about working in the seed industry is the ability to employ my passion for research and skills in science to address humanity’s core need for affordable, sustainably-grown food. It’s very rewarding to work in an industry that has a direct impact on the quality of life of so many individuals.”
