Agricultural Outlook 2014
Where is the Indiana agricultural economy headed in 2014? That will be the topic of a webcast from Purdue’s Department of Agricultural Economics on August 16. The all-day program involves the outlook in 10 different subject areas presented by professors who are experts on their topic. There is no fee for the webinar and web participants are encouraged to check the schedule for presentation times of topics of interest.
The webinar will begin at 8:30 am with a discussions of the prospects for the U.S. and global economy. This will be followed by an update of the current Agricultural Policy stalemate in Washington and the prospects for how Congress will work through their differences to get a new Farm Bill. Prospects for agricultural exports will be updated with hope for a large recovery in corn sales. Additional outlook topics will included: grains, livestock, dairy, crop inputs, crop budgets, land values, and food prices.
Participants in the webinar will see the visuals on their computer, tablet, or smartphone screen, and hear the presenters’ voice.  They will also be able to submit questions by their devices. To test your connection, please visit:    (This will also be the address for the live webinar.)
