TITLE: Account Representative
Identify and develop strategic vendor relationships that drive growth of the Total Solutions initiative. Support core business and R &
D initiatives by purchasing select raw materials for feed and food markets. Facilitate all activities associated with the purchasing
processes. Participate in risk management process.
Purchase and contract raw materials and ingredient items in support of IIC’s core business and R & D Initiatives.
Develop Total Solutions suite of products & services.
Develop and maintain relationships with strategic accounts.
Develop marketing materials and marketing efforts for Total Solutions (website, brochures, trade shows, advertising, etc.).
Develop and maintain relationships within target strategic verticals as assigned (confections, meats, snacks & bakery, etc.).
Develop and maintain relationships with strategic service partners such as rendering, dried bakery, recycling, solid waste
management, liquid waste management, liquid feed, renewable fuels, de-packaging companies, etc.
Work with R & D and operations to build new products and product platforms around strategic vendor raw materials.
Negotiate for and implement contractual arrangements.
Study commercial industry literature and other resources to keep abreast of industry and market trends.
Keep key IIC departments updated on anticipated raw material costs as it may impact pricing.
Prepare for and participate in periodic progress reviews.
Participate in IIC budgeting process according to responsibilities.
Maintain vendor pricing as it pertains to strategic accounts.
Recommend and implement hedging activities associated with IIC purchases and sales such as Corn, Soybean meal, and
Perform related tasks as requested, grow into additional responsibilities.
Position is based in Fenton, MO headquarters.
5+ years experience purchasing Feed / Food industry ingredients
5+ years Ag market experience such as grain trading, commodity trading, and risk management.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Technical / scientific bias, intellectual curiosity.
Willingness to travel eight plus weeks per year.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point
Science or chemistry experience/education a plus.
Animal nutrition, agricultural experience a plus.
Previous sales experience a plus.
Familiarity with Sharepoint site development a plus.
The Account Representative reports to the Category Manager, Total Solutions. Success will be measured as a combination of new
strategic accounts, quantity and value of new raw material streams managed, strategic partnerships developed and margins generated.
