CTIC Project Coordinator
Background
CTIC is a membership based organization that Champions, promotes and provides information on technologies and
sustainable agricultural systems. CTIC works with partners in targeted areas, often at the watershed level, to encourage
greater adoption of priority conservation practices, technologies, and systems on agricultural lands. These projects typically
are funded by grants from public and private entities. CTIC coordinates with partners to orchestrate on-the-ground work
and manages the grants and budgets to ensure that all tasks and other deliverables are completed to quality standards and all
reports are submitted on time.
Major Responsibilities
Project coordinator will work with CTIC staff and other partners to assist in managing and CTIC’s projects. Project
coordinator will also assist with other CTIC initiatives where appropriate. Job will include some travel to project locations
and meetings. Additional travel opportunities may arise that will require overnight travel, some that may be outside
Indiana. This position is a part-time position, starting at 20-24 hours per week.
Candidates for this position should be comfortable interacting with CTIC staff, CTIC Board members and project
partners outside CTIC. Candidates also should be comfortable presenting information and relating relevant project
events to small groups.
The following skills will be necessary for this position:
_ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
_ Excellent organizational skills.
_ Ability to effectively manage and meet established deadlines.
_ Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
_ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
_ Experience using basic computer applications, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
The following tasks will be involved in this position:
_ Assist in scheduling, managing and promoting project-related events and field days.
_ Assist the project director in obtaining information from project partners for project reports and assisting in the
creation and submission of project reports to funding organizations.
_ Provide input on project proposals and plans for future CTIC initiatives.
_ Assist project director and communications director in identifying newsworthy items and developing
appropriate stories and articles for outside publications and CTIC’s social media outlets and website.

_ Assist the project director and communications director in updating the project pages on the
CTIC website with fresh, relevant content.
_ Assist project director in organizing and managing the budgets for the various CTIC projects and initiatives.
_ Assist project director in fulfilling requests for information from CTIC’s Crop Residue
Management (CRM) survey database. The
following will be required for this position:
Education
_ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in soils, agronomy, natural resources, or other
applicable conservation or agriculture discipline.
Experience
_ Experience in agriculture, conservation agriculture, agronomy, conservation or related field.
_ Experience managing deadlines.
Knowledge
_ A basic understanding of the various operations associated with modern production agriculture.
_ Awareness of the programs, practices and agencies / organizations associated with conservation on
agricultural lands.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Experience and Knowledge
_ Direct experience working with a defined project.
_ Direct experience with managing grants, grant budgets, reporting and grant deadlines.
_ Knowledge of agronomic principles and practices, including crops, soils and nutrients.
_ Experience working with partners to accomplish tasks.
_ Experience in the practices and principles associated with conservation agriculture.
