Hancock Forest Management
General Directive: Responsible for all land management operations within assigned area of Hancock Forest
Management, Inc. (HFM). These tasks are to be performed in a team environment involving region and division
personnel.
Locations: 6 Positions across the Inland Division. The Inland Division includes land in NE Washington with operations
centered around Colville, NE Oregon with operations centered around La Grande, and Idaho with operations centered
around Coeur d’Alene and surrounding communities.
Scope:
Develop and maintain relationships with HFM staff and HTRG staff
Develop and maintain relationships with contractors
Knowledgeable in areas of forestry, pesticide regulations, harvest operations.
Implement as part of a team the strategic plan based on CMP outputs
Job Dimensions:
Implement as part of a team and ensure quality control objectives are met
Provide ground reconnaissance to be used in the development of strategic harvest planning
Assist in the development of annual property budgets and subsequent forecasts as needed
Provide Geographical Information Systems (GIS) support for operations

Specific Duties:

Design permit and administrate contracts
Provide support, in a team environment, for the prescription and implementation of chemical and mechanical site
prep activities
Participant in the NID safety program
Assist with the development of harvest plans
Aid in the administration and implementation of layout for harvest units on the ground
Aid in the population of FOPS with strategic harvest plans
Responsible for implementation of SFI® standards
Manage and update GIS data for silviculture and harvest activities
Support other HNRG groups such as Acquisitions, Client Account Group, etc. as needed
Special projects as requested or needed
Ensure compliance with all state Forest Practice regulations
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Forest Management (or related field such as Forest Engineering/ Forest Science) or
equivalent experience
Strong working knowledge of both Northwest Inland forest practice regulations.
Demonstrated strong organizational skills

Knowledge of computer software, with emphasis in ArcMap, Excel, Access, and Word

Must be team player, able to understand and work with others needs and with different personalities
Must be highly motivated and entrepreneurial
Strong oral and written communication skills
