Production Management Trainee

Christensen Farms is dedicated to training and developing talented employees. As part
of this initiative, we offer a Production Management Trainee program designed for
recent or upcoming graduates pursuing a career in animal production. The program
provides individuals with in-depth knowledge and understanding of being a world class
leader in swine production. Incorporated into the training program is extensive one-onone
time spent with leaders throughout the organization. We provide resources and
support to reach your goals, but you will drive the process as part of your own personal
and professional growth and development. With a structured training plan,
the ultimate goal ofthe Production Management Trainee program is to lay the
foundation for individuals to take on a management role.
The Production Management Trainee program has two primary objectives. The first
focuses on the technical aspects of production on a sow farm; livestock breeding and
improvement, gestation, farrowing, early pig care, weaning, animal feed and nutrition,
farm maintenance, and production numbers & record keeping. The second objective
focuses on leadership and managing others. As part of this experience, all Production
Management Trainees will participate in Christensen Farms' Training & Development
program. The T&D program brings trainees together from all the different regions to
focus on leadership, the roles of a manager, motivating others, and team building. This
is accomplished through a series of training sessions hosted in the corporate office and

facilitated by certified trainers.
