Charging Clients and Pricing Materials

Charging Clients

For most projects, AgComm does not charge for editing or designing. Authors or departments typically pay only for production and distribution.

Larger, more complex projects require additional resources. Consult your editor for details.

Media Distribution Center Fees

Once in inventory, all materials are subject to a picking and distribution fee from the Media Distribution Center to cover expenses. These fees are assessed at the time of sale.

Authors may always have free copies of their own publications; however, Store fees will still be applied on free copies.

Freelance Fees

Authors or departments are also charged if freelancers - translators, illustrators, etc., are needed to complete a project. However, AgComm will not hire freelancers without approval from the originating author or department.

University-Approved Pricing Policy for Extension Materials

AgComm educational materials are distributed through The Education Store for Purdue Extension. Distributing these materials is intended to educate various audiences, thus fulfilling the Purdue Extension's mission.

To help you determine a price to charge items you intend to sell through The Education Store, we have created a Product Price Calculator.

Customer Discounts

Indiana counties and district offices may be given the first copy of each publication for free. They also receive a 20 percent discount on most materials they order.

Orders by the general public for multiple copies may be discounted. Please, discuss discounts with your editor.

Educational materials may be provided to the public free of charge if the originating department wishes to do so.
