Researchers in STEAM Education Life Science Education Signature Area: A team of researchers who conduct professional development workshops for teachers and research the impact of experiential and outreach programs that the life sciences​ have on human capital. The goal of the project is to determine effective curricula and outreach programs that create engaging contexts for K-16 students to learn life science and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and mathematics (STEAM). Results of 19 different studies were shared at on-campus meetings, professional conferences, and journals. Workshops were conducted for over 200 youth educators, 120 volunteer educators, 25 graduate students in the life sciences, and 21 faculty. YDAE
